The Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Information Lawyer to support a high profile Commonwealth Department in Canberra. The successful candidate will need to have skills and experience in freedom of information (FOI), privacy and public interest disclosure.

The Requirements

A current practising certificate and previous experience advising on Commonwealth FOI and privacy matters are essential. At least 5 years PQE is required.

Our client is seeking an engaging and experienced Paralegal with a Baseline Clearance to join a legal division that supports a Commonwealth department based in Canberra.

$420 to $480 per day (inc super) Canberra

Our client is seeking an engaging and experienced Paralegal with a Baseline Clearance to join a legal division that supports a Commonwealth department based in Canberra.

The department has recently developed a new Legal Advice Register which functions as a searchable central repository of all legal advices held by the Division.  The Paralegal’s role will be to review, categorise and upload legal advices to the Register.

Previous experience in working in a Commonwealth setting is essential, as is holding a current Baseline Security Clearance.

Legal studies (or near completion) or an extensive legal background is required.

We currently have an opportunity within a high profile Commonwealth department based in Canberra that is seeking an experienced Administration Lawyer to work on a variety of legal projects.

$900 to $1260 daily rate including super Canberra

Senior Administration Lawyer – Administrative Law/Statutory Interpretation – $900 to $1260 daily rate including super – initial 6 month contract with a possible 12 to 18 month extension – Baseline Clearance.

The Roles

We currently have an opportunity within a high profile Commonwealth department based in Canberra that is seeking an experienced Senior Administration Lawyer to work on a variety of legal projects.

The Duties

The successful candidate will be required to work as a secondee within the Commonwealth clients’ in-house legal team.  High level stakeholder engagement skills are required as the successful candidate will be required to provide advice and assistance to a wide range of client areas.

An Administrative law generalist would be well suited to this role, possessing knowledge and experience in:

  • Commonwealth administrative law;
  • statutory interpretation;
  • legislation development and reform;

The Requirements

A current baseline security clearance is essential.

$733 to $1212 daily rate inc super Canberra - Sydney - Melbourne

Commercial Advisers – $733 to $1212 daily rate inc super – Minimum Baseline Clearance essential – Initial contracts up to 12 months, starting 1 July 2021 – Canberra – Melbourne – Sydney Locations

The Role

Our client, a high-profile Commonwealth Department, is seeking experienced commercial advisers at a range of levels to support its procurement activities.  The commercial advisers will also support the development of project commercial documentation.

The Duties

The key responsibilities will include:

  • conducting market research, industry engagement activity and approaches to market;
  • developing procurement-related documentation including appropriate procurement templates, schedules, correspondence, reports, submissions, plans and strategies, risk analysis, and other contract management documentation;
  • conducting and advising on procurement processes, including tender evaluation activities;
  • advising on management of existing contracts, including drafting and reviewing contract correspondence;
  • ensuring procurement and contract management processes are compliant with legislation and departmental procurement policy;
  • managing stakeholder input to procurement activity and contract management; and
  • accurately completing work within agreed schedules and quality requirements.

The Requirements

Knowledge and experience in the ASDEFCON suite of tendering and contracting documentation is highly desirable.

Legal qualifications and experience are desirable as well as 1 to 5 years’ Commonwealth commercial legal experience. Experience working on large, high-profile Defence projects would be highly regarded. 

A current Baseline security clearance at a minimum is essential.
